    Classic Mistakes Survey

    Locked Reply Contact

Steve McConnell first introduced the concept of classic mistakes in Rapid Development. Classic mistakes are ineffective development practices that have been chosen so often, by so many projects, with such predictable results that they deserved the name. For example, one common classic mistake is starting a project with an overly optimistic schedule.

Construx has recently updated Steve McConnell's original list of classic mistakes based on our training and consulting experiences over the last 10+ years. We are interested in your input on the classic mistakes that you see occurring and on their impact. A survey of the current classic mistakes is available at https://vovici.com/wsb.dll/s/10431g2996e

We plan to collate the results later this year and provide a summary report. Results from the survey will be available in late 2007. As a participant, we’ll provide the summary report to you prior to making it available to the general public.

If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact me directly. On behalf of Construx, Steve McConnell, and myself, thank you for your input.
